I’ve gone back and forth on whether to write this, but I’m going to. Cancer doesn’t just hit your body—it hits your finances, your energy, your ability to plan, and your sense of safety. I’m in the middle of treatment right now: chemotherapy, with a double mastectomy and full hysterectomy ahead. I started a GoFundMe before, and the support I received helped carry me through a chapter I didn’t choose. I am deeply grateful to everyone who showed up for me in ways I will never forget.
But as I continue this journey, the needs haven’t stopped. Donations to my original fundraiser have slowed, and continuing to post there is starting to feel like shouting into the void. So I’m simplifying and starting a new fundraiser focused on the next 90 days. My biggest challenge is staying insured and covering the day-to-day costs of staying in treatment and staying okay. The funds raised here will go directly toward COBRA insurance premiums, copays, medications, post-operative care needs, bills, and other expenses, so I can focus on healing and take care of whatever comes up.
If you can help, I would be grateful. If you can’t, sharing the link is support too. And to everyone who has already donated: thank you. You’ve helped carry me through so much already. If you’re able to give again, your continued support would mean the world to me. Community means everything right now, and I’m so grateful to be surrounded by people who care.
