5/17/25: Update on Ace. We got the quote from Dr. Rose for the CT scans. I will post in photos. It’s in the ballpark of $2800 to $3000. The CT scans will allow the Dr. to see where the bulla is on his lung and also check his other organs impacted from the hit. I will update when the CT scans are scheduled.

Update on Ace: He’s relaxing after an early morning appointment with Dr. Scott Rose. They checked his vitals and his lungs. They are sending the quote for the CT scan. (I have not received it yet.) Dr. Rose will do contrast and scan Ace’s lungs, kidney, liver, spleen, and bladder. His skull fracture appears to be healing well. Dr. Rose explained that if the bulla is in the inner lung there is less than 10 percent chance it will erupt. However if it is in the outer lining he will need surgery. Fingers crossed! I will update everyone when the next appointment is for the CT scans!
5/7 I finally figured out how to update as I have never done a Go Fund Me! Ace is home with us and has a consultation with Surgeon Dr. Scott Rose next Thursday to get his CT scans to verify whether surgery will be necessary for his damaged organs and the bulla on his lung. I will continue with updates and Thank You to each and every one of you. Shane, Ace and I are overwhelmed with gratitude. He is our heart and we are so thankful he is pulling through this!

Ace is our baby boy who was hit by a hit and run driver. He bolted out the front door during a child’s birthday party on April 26, 2025. We rescued Ace (he also rescued us) from Forget Me Not Dog Rescue after Hurricane Ian. He never leaves my side and often goes to work with me.

Ace was missing until April 29, 2025, when he was found by a young man who had seen our flyers. He called and did not speak English well, so he video called and showed us Ace hidden in brush and foliage, badly injured. He then ran up out of the foliage and showed the sign of the Glenn Brooke apartments. We were less than a mile down the road as we had hired a drone operator to do a thermal search. Ace is currently at the University Parkway Animal Emergency Vet. His vet bills are expected to be upwards of $20,000. He has a fractured skull and many large gashes on his head, face, and the left side of his body. He has internal injuries. The vet is trying to stabilize him to do a contrast for a CT scan on his chest because he has an air pocket that should not be there (thorax is ebola - may be spelled wrong). I will give updates and copies of medical bills. I appreciate all of the folks who helped us search for him, sent prayers and good energy, and helped hang flyers. Ace thanks you all too.
