- Our beloved Abuela (Don Gipe) has been in intensive care for five weeks weeks. He is now at the Regional hospital. He is in an isolation room which is basically intensive care. His blood sugar is under control but the wound on his leg is very serious. He had an ultrasound on Tuesday. The results were good Visiting hours are 11-1 and 4-6. Bring a mask.We expect him to be released in the next few days. He will need home nursing care when he is released. A small group has been taking care of his needs. The hospital bill is so far $32,000 US Dollars. That was paid by the generosity of his good friends and $5,000 from this account. The remainder of the donations will go to his needs at regional. They are a bare bones hospital, but very clean. Everything has to be paid for. A biopsy was taken to Diagnostik and cost $1200 pesos. The ultrasound today is almost $1700 pesos. The ambulance at the hospital is broken. We have to transport him in our car. We have his dog who has many medical needs of his own. All donations will go to Abuela's care. Jesus from Anonimo is taking care of his apartment and birds. We are very lucky to have a supportive community doing their part.
