On March 20 my husband Abraham was taken to the ER while he was in California during his stay to participate in a convention in San Jose, CA. ,and admitted for 9 days prior to that he was showing symptoms of shortness of breathing and extreme fatigue. After being treated with high flow oxygen almost couldn't make it, the doctors found out both his lungs failed slowly and ended up on the breathing machine.

on Sunday 23rd afternoon I flew to California. I left my kids with my first daughter's friend's house for unknown days. when I arrived there he was so weak and sleepy because of all the sedation medications he didn't wake fully. He stayed in the ICU for 9 days. After his stayed in CA he was air lifted to University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) in Seattle. As soon as we got there, they put him in ECMO machine that helped with oxygen and blood circulation. He stayed in that machine for a week. Finally on April 6, 2025, Abraham got a matching lung donor and the lung transplant surgery was done, praise to the Lord God gave him another chance to live. The surgery took 13 hrs. After surgery done my husband was bleeding massively and put him in OR room again. This was another devastating news for me and for everybody, but with God willingness everything got fixed and back to the Thoracic surgery ICU Room. He stayed in ICU for a month and half then moved him to Acute care. He stayed another 2 months and moved to patient rehab. It did not end up after 15 days spent in rehab they found another infection and moved back to acute care for another 1.5 months and had final procedure. At his time he was ready to go back to rehab, with all unconditional hospital treatment doctors, nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists, nutritionist all hard work and from all prayers my husband getting better.

During all these times I was going back and forth to see the kids in Wenatchee and our good friends were helping us transport the kids and me from Wenatchee to Seattle. That was another hard part for the girls and myself. In between the girls came a few times to Seattle to see their dad and it was still so hard to say bye whenever it was time to go back to Seattle and when they went back to Wenatchee. This continued for 3 months. I was doing my best to balance everything. Thank you to my daughter's friends parents for their kind decisions to look for our two kids for 3 months together with their own two kids. We believe they are angels sent by God. Because of them our kids were able to finish 2024 school year. When summer came I wasn't sure what to do with kids during their break and I was so stressed, but God bless my older sister and her husband took the kids to Ontario, Canada to spend time with them. They stayed close to the school year 2025.

Things passed, on Sept 9, 2025, almost 6th month in hospital Abraham was discharged from hospital. After the discharge my husband, me and the kids also my mom re-unite again, that was one relief, but we must stayed in the Seattle area for 3 months as outpatient and the kids out of school, and we did home schooling. At this time I am out of work to take care of my husband and the kids. I am on unpaid leave, and my husband is currently on Long Term Disability now we have much less than the regular income. In the beginning of May there was a WhatsApp group created by Abraham’s close friends and relatives from Seattle and My sister; thanks to them we were able to got some amount of money, but it wasn't enough to cover all our ongoing expenses and for daily living expense. Now we are asking kindly for help and to support us with our financial burdens. It's not easy to spend one day in the hospital, let alone for almost 6 months. March 20 ባለቤቴ አብራሃም ለስራ ወደ ካሊፎርኒያ በሄደበት ወቅት በከፍተኛ የትንፋሽ ማጠር እና ከፍተኛ ድካም ካጋጠመው በኋላ ወደ አቅራቢያ በሚገኝ ሆስፒታል ተወሰደ። ህመሙ በፍጥነት እየተባባሰ ሄዶ በመተንፈሻ ማሽን ላይ ለዘጠኝ ቀን ቆይታ አድርጓል። ከዛም ወደ ሲያትል ዩኒቨርሲቲ ዋሽንግተኝ ሆስፒታል በህክምና አውሮፕላን መወሰድ ችሏል ጉዞው በሚገርም ሁኔታ ፈታኝ ነበር፣ ነገር ግን በእግዚአብሔር ቸርነት፣ አብርሀም ሚያዝያ ፮ ቀን ፳፪፭ (April 6 2025)የሳንባ ንቅለ ተከላ ተደረገለት። እግዛብሄርም ሁለተኛ እድል ሰጠው::

ከዚያን ጊዜ ጀምሮ፣ አብርሃም ረጅም የሆስፒታል ቆይታን ጨምሮ በርካታ የጤና እንቅፋቶች አጋጥሞታል። በተለይ ልጆቻችንን በመንከባከብ እና አብርሃምን በማገገም ስረዳው በቤተሰባችን ላይ የሚደርሰው ስሜታዊ ጉዳት እጅግ በጣም ብዙ ነው። ነገር ግን በእግዛብሄር ችርነት በዶክተሮች ያላሰለሰ ጥረት በደግ ጓደኞች እና በቤተሰብ በዘመድ እርዳታ፣ እነዚህን አስቸጋሪ ጊዜያት ማለፍ ችለናል።
