Support Abigail's Fight Against Malnutrition

Hello, my name is Michelle Skog and I am creating this Go Fund Me for my 6 year old daughter, Abigail.
Abigail was diagnosed with autism at 2.5 years old and getting her to eat has always been very difficult. Abby goes through phases where she will only eat 1 or 2 food items at a time and refuse anything else. Leading up to her hospital admission on 6/17, she completely stopped eating/drinking. She would ask for Cheerios and milk, but wouldn't eat or drink when it was given to her. We assumed that perhaps she wasn't feeling well and would return to her normal habits in a few days. Unfortunately, that was not the case. She continued to refuse all foods/liquids and became progressively more lethargic. After about 2 days of complete food refusal, we took her to the emergency room at Texas Children's Hospital for evaluation. She was diagnosed with malnutrition & dehydration and admitted to the hospital. She was placed on IV fluids and a nasogastric (NG) tube was inserted through her nose and into her stomach to administer nutrition. After a few days on continuous fluids and formula feedings, she started to return to her normal happy, singing/dancing, self. However, she is still refusing all foods except Cheerios and will not drink. Today is our 7th day in the hospital and we will soon be discharged home with an NG tube in place so we can continue to administer the formula she needs. At the end of July, the NG tube will be removed and she will have surgery to insert a G-button. The G-button is a more permanent way to administer her tube feedings and will allow her to live a more "normal" life at home and at school. It has become apparent to us that these tube feedings are absolutely necessary to ensure she gets the nutrition she needs to gain weight, stay healthy, and thrive.
The biggest hurdle we are facing right now is the financial side to all of this. We do not have medical insurance and Abigail's formula and the supplies she needs at home will cost $526.50 per month out of pocket while she has the NG tube. After surgical placement of the G-button, the cost of supplies will certainly go up. This is going to place a major financial strain on our family who is already struggling to make ends meet. Any donation to help with the cost of Abigail's feeding supplies would be greatly appreciated! If you are unable to donate, we would appreciate prayers for our sweet little girl. Thank you.
