Hello Everyone,
My name is Abigail Escamilla, and earlier this year at just 28 years old, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive nerve cancer.
In June, I underwent surgery to remove a tumor from my right arm, which unfortunately has already affected my hand mobility. Since then, I’ve spent countless days at MD Anderson, where doctors discovered another tumor in my arm as well as additional cancerous cells forming nearby.
After many difficult conversations with my care team and loved ones, I’ve made the hardest decision of my life—to move forward with the amputation of my right arm. While this choice has not been easy, it offers me the best chance to continue living and creating more precious memories with my family and friends.
Throughout this painful and uncertain journey, I’ve been incredibly blessed by the love and support of my family, friends, and colleagues. Their encouragement gives me the strength to keep fighting.
Today, I humbly ask for your support. Any donation, no matter the size, will go toward covering my medical bills, upcoming surgery, recovery, and the process of starting life with a prosthetic arm. Your kindness and generosity will mean the world to me and help me face this next chapter with hope.
With love and gratitude,
Abigail
