Abe Kolii and I were riding an e-bike together at night when we were involved in a serious accident. Before we even started our ride, Abe gave me his helmet, putting my safety first due the fact I don’t ride with him 99% of the time and he really wanted me too. Because of his selfless act, I walked away with only scrapes and bruises, but Abe suffered a broken jaw and severe road rash on his chest, arms, face and wrists. He now faces a long road to recovery, including jaw surgery and at least six weeks of treatment and recovery.

Abe’s injuries have left him unable to work, and the financial strain of hospital bills, surgery, and ongoing care is overwhelming. We’re doing everything we can to support each other, but the costs are more than we can manage alone. This experience has brought us even closer as a couple, and I am so grateful for his bravery and love. Now, I want and need to do everything I can to help him heal without the added stress of mounting medical expenses.
