My brother Abe was admitted into the ICU of Columbia Presbeterian Medical Center on November 27 with severe acute pancreatitis. His condition has been consistently volatile since. His body has been slowly declining and has needed countless surgeries to keep him alive. The pictures Ive posted were taken right before he was admitted. Since then he has lost over 70 pounds and hasn't been able to sit up straight let alone stand for more than a short period since this happened. Not only has he not been able to work because of his state but my sister in law has been unable to maintain any consistency with her work because of the need for her to be at the hospital for emergency surgeries, transport between facilities and support for him on premises. It has been over 3 months now that he has been in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Constant sitters for my niece and nephew (Olivia 7 and Evan 5) as well as immense medical costs have been a tremendous strain. Everyone in the family is pulling together and contributing time and money in support but we could use any help possible. Local families have been sending over cooked meals to take some of the strain off and friends have offered their time but as this situation draws on we are having to seek more and more outlets of support. If a lot of people are able to give even a little it helps so much. Anything is appreciated. Thank you for your love and support.Organizer and beneficiary
