We are coming together for our Brother and Cousin, Abe who is fighting for his life after a Massive Heart-attack and we are needing your prayers and if possible, I know Abe and Kandy could use your financial help for living expenses for the next few months.

On Friday March 13th, Abe and his wife Kandy were out riding their bikes on a beautiful spring day near their hometown of Andrew S.C. when Abe went down, suddenly from a Massive Heart Attack. Praise be to God, a Police Officer was right there, and after seeing Abe collapse, acted quickly calling EMS and began administering CPR (our loving God was already working miracles). He was rushed to the local hospital and later that evening flown by helicopter to Charleston S.C. (one of the best “heart” hospitals. Another miracle). As of Sunday evening, Abe is not out of the woods yet. The Cardiologist said that a very small percentage (5-6%) of people survive this bad of a heart-attack (another beautiful miracle). We continue to take it one day at a time.

In the meantime, Kandy is by his side at the hospital, unable to work and keep their coffee shop running back at home, which brings up a beautiful story of their trust and surrender to God’s Will. I have taken words from their website and posted it at the end of my letter.

Since opening their coffee shop, AK Coffee, they have used it as a beacon of light and of hope to those who come in as well as those who pass by. Every day, they pause what they are doing at 9:00 a.m. to ring a bell and pray for all of the prayer requests from the “Prayer Station” they have received both in the shop and online.

They have given to their community in so many ways since moving from their home out West and now THEY are Needing OUR Help and Care.

AK COFFEE’s Story:

We are Abe and Kandy. In March of 2021, we made the crazy decision to buy an RV, quit our jobs, sell everything, and travel the country with no plans other than to go where God leads. During our travels we created a travel blog abeandkandy.com where you can read about our travels.

In October 2021, we stopped in Myrtle Beach, SC on our way to Florida for the winter and we loved it. Abe had always wanted to flip a house, so, with no desire to live in a tourist town once tourist season hit, we began looking for a house in a nearby town. That lead us to Andrews, SC. We bought a house, fixed it up, and ended up moving in. Next thing we knew, we were opening up a coffee shop.

We are excited for this chance to serve God and our community, with big plans for the future. Stop in for a fresh cup of coffee (we also have non-coffee drinks) and local baked goods. We have a conference room that can be used for business meetings, Bible studies, or other get togethers, and our dining area has comfy furniture to sit back and relax in.
