Hi! My name is Cassie Dimmick, and I’m an educator in the Burlington School District in Burlington, Vermont.

I'm creating this page to support a former student of mine, Abdi Sharif, as he works toward achieving his goals in both academics and athletics.

I had the pleasure of teaching Abdi when I first began my journey at the Integrated Arts Academy, formerly H.O. Wheeler. From the beginning, he stood out as a charismatic, energetic, and hardworking individual—someone who brings passion and perseverance to everything he does.

Recently, Abdi played a key role in leading his team to victory in the Division I high school basketball championships. His outstanding performance earned him the major honor of: Mr. Basketball as well as being a highly ranked contender for Gatorade Player of the Year.

Abdi's next goal is to attend a prep school for a year. This opportunity will allow him to continue building academic momentum while also refining his basketball skills, with the ultimate goal of earning a spot at a strong collegiate program.

Abdi is a humble, dedicated young man who has worked hard to get where he is. With the support of his community, I believe he can take the next big step toward his dreams. Please consider helping Abdi continue his journey through education and his passion for basketball.
