Support Abby's Recovery from Brain Surgery

Hi Everyone!

My name is Brittany. As some of you may know, my friend Abby recently has recently had some health problems arise and is in need of our help.

After years of suffering from debilitating migraines, her condition came to a head in November 2023 - quite literally! She woke up one morning last fall in an excruciating amount of pain while exhibiting stroke-like symptoms. She was unable to form complete sentences, apart from politely answering "please and thank you" to any and every question. Thanks to her family jumping into action, Abby was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

After several scans, tests, spinal taps, and a few scary days in the hospital later, Abby had an answer. She had been diagnosed with IIH or a pseudo tumor aka a blood vessel in her brain was compressed and caused increased pressure on her brain. Several months of migraines, medication, and spinal taps later, Abby's doctors determined that the best course of action would be a surgery to place a stent in the compressed vessel, relieve the pressure, and ultimately restore her quality of life.

I am pleased to report that she was able to have a successful surgery last Tuesday and is currently navigating the recovery process at home. However, the long road to find relief has left her saddled with several medical expenses and bills that piled up in the process. She is needing $1,300 to alleviate the financial burden as she continues to recover from this medical journey.

Abby is a wonderfully generous human who takes care of her friends, family, and furbabies at every available opportunity - now it is our turn to do the same.
