Hello,
My name is Taylor and I am starting a Gofund me for my niece Abby and her family. This Sunday, Abby was involved in a severe car accident in Canterbury CT that left her pinned inside the passenger compartment of her vehicle. First responders worked urgently to free her, but the extent of her injuries was catastrophic. She coded twice at the scene and continues to fight for her life. Our hearts are shattered as we share the unimaginable tragedy that has changed Abby's life forever.
Right now, Abby is in critical condition and not yet stable. She has suffered:
Multiple internal organ damage
Severe internal bleeding
A traumatic brain injury with brain bleeding
At least 10 broken bones
So far Abby has undergone 5 emergency surgeries within the first 40 hours. This is only the beginning of Abby's fight. Anyone who knows Abby know's she is one of the brightest, most resilient, and compassionate young women to touch our lives. Abby is the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation. The kind of person who makes people feel seen, loved, and safe. Now, she needs us to show up for her. While the Journey ahead for both Abby and her family is long, we continue to rally with support knowing if anyone will fight through this devastation with courage it is the Pike family.
Doctors anticipate at least 12–15 additional surgeries in the coming weeks, followed by a long and uncertain road of intensive rehabilitation, therapies, and recovery.
Her family is now facing the reality of becoming full-time caregivers while navigating overwhelming medical decisions, emotional trauma, and financial strain. The cost of life-saving care, surgeries, hospital stays, rehabilitation, and long-term support will be immense.
We are asking for your help more now than ever, Abby's life is currently in terms of hour to hour.
Every donation, no matter the amount will go directly toward:
Life-saving surgeries and medical care
ICU and hospital expenses
Rehabilitation and therapy
Long-term care and support needs
Helping ease the financial burden on her family during this devastating time as their worlds halt to a stop and transfer to the ICU waiting room day in and day out. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Abby in your prayers.
Right now, she is fighting with everything she has. Let’s come together to fight for Abby as she would for anyone. Thank you for your love, support, generosity and taking the time to be apart of Abby's fight. #abbystrong
