Abby has faced every step of her breast cancer journey with so much strength, grace and determination. With the incredible support from her first GoFundMe community, she made it through one of the hardest years of her life , and for that, she and her family will always be deeply grateful.
In August 2023, Abby was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer that spread to her lymph nodes. Her cancer was fast-growing and hormone-driven, which meant an aggressive treatment plan was necessary - a bilateral mastectomy, followed by months of chemotherapy, reconstructive surgery and radiation.
Thanks to her medical team, the support of family and friends, and the generosity of the GoFundMe community, Abby is now in remission. But as she’s quickly learned, remission doesn’t mean the journey is over. Her care continues with long-term medications, hormone therapy, along with more surgeries ahead, including:
- Anastrozole, a medication that lowers estrogen levels to prevent cancer from returning
- Verzenio, a targeted therapy that helps stop any remaining cancer cells from growing
- Lupron, an injection that blocks cancer-fueling hormones
- Zometa, an infusion that protects her bones from weakening
Recently, Abby was also diagnosed with capsular contracture (Baker Grade 3+), a painful complication that can occur after reconstructive surgery and radiation. This condition has caused visible changes to her implants and chronic discomfort, and after seeing a cancer rehabilitation specialist, she also learned she has frozen shoulder, which has severely limited her movement. Her medical team is now developing a treatment plan that includes physical therapy, pain management, and another surgery to help restore her mobility and improve her quality of life.
Even with insurance, the cost of these treatments, follow-up care, and related expenses continues to add up. Abby has also been placed in medicinal menopause at a young age which has brought unexpected physical and emotional challenges for Abby, while continuing to care for herself and her family.

- Medical bills and related expenses
- Rebuilding stability and hope for the future after cancer
While this goal covers just the next stage of Abby’s recovery, every contribution helps ease her financial stress so she can focus on healing and her family. As Abby’s journey continues, we may update the goal to reflect her ongoing needs in remission.
