Abby has been a fighter since the very beginning. At just three months old, she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid buildup in the brain. She underwent a complex surgery to place a VP shunt and miraculously survived multiple seizures and life-threatening complications. Her strength, smile, and spirit have inspired everyone around her ever since.
Recently, Abby began experiencing severe headaches, vomiting, and fevers, and her mom, Liz, rushed her to the hospital. What was expected to be a simple check turned into an emergency. An MRI revealed that her shunt wasn’t functioning properly, and doctors had to perform urgent surgery. During the procedure, they discovered that what looked like fluid was actually mucus. Further testing revealed that it wasn’t an infection, it was tumors. There is still so much unknown...
Since then, Abby has undergone two brain surgeries, and doctors are now determining the exact type of tumor and the best course of treatment, which could include additional surgery and chemotherapy.
Liz, a devoted mother, has not left Abby’s side for a single moment. She’s been living in the hospital, facing uncertainty and exhaustion, while trying to stay strong for her daughter. Being unable to work during this time has created an enormous financial strain on top of the emotional toll.
That’s where we come in.
We’re asking for your help to stand with Liz and Abby through this incredibly challenging time.
Your donations will go directly toward:
Covering medical expenses and treatments not covered by insurance
Providing living and household support while Liz stays with Abby
Assisting with meals, transportation, and recovery care
Every dollar, every share, and every prayer makes a difference. Together, we can give Abby and Liz the support and peace of mind they need to focus on healing and hope.
Thank you for showing what it means to come together for a family in need.
With gratitude,
Marcela
