Abby Etgen has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, a blood cancer that causes serious bleeding issues and infections. This rare condition required Abby to be given immediate medical attention. She is receiving aggressive chemotherapy as a high risk patient at The James Cancer Hospital, where she will be admitted for a minimum of 6 weeks.

Abby is a loving mother to a 7 month old baby. Abby and her husband, Chad, welcomed Gabriella 3 months prematurely into the world after an emergency birth earlier this year. Unfortunately, their baby needed to spend 70 days in the NICU and required extra care after being discharged. The Etgen family has been through a lot of challenges this year.
