Support Abby and Clare's Healing Journey

Donation protected

On July 21, 2024 six members of the Bourm family were sitting at a red light when they were rear ended by a truck moving at high speed. Seven-year-old twins Abby and Clare were sitting in the back seat and took the full force of the impact. They spent 13 days in the pediatric intensive care unit and sustained life-threatening injuries, including significant brain injuries and many bone fractures. Miraculously, they are both home now, but the girls have a long journey of healing ahead: both will be confined to wheelchairs for months, undergo physical and cognitive therapies, and likely face future corrective surgeries.

The family is overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support, prayers, and generosity already shown by family, friends, and the community.

Many have asked how they can help the Bourm family now. Your donations will help provide financial relief as the driver of the truck has very minimal insurance coverage and it could be two years before any reimbursement is seen. The Bourm family is facing a major, unexpected financial hardship with respect to the massive hospital bills, totaled vehicle, and lack of income. Kelsey, the main provider, has been unable to work due to the demands of caring for Abby, Clare, and the other children. Please do not feel that this is a solicitation, but rather an opportunity to help support the Bourm’s for those that wish to do so.
