Hi everyone, I’m Tonya
As many of you know, Family has always been the center of my heart — it’s what keeps me grounded, hopeful, and strong. I’m a mom of six amazing kids, and this past year, my family grew in the most unexpected, but beautiful way.
Last year, we welcomed a set of siblings into our home through a kinship placement. These children came from heartbreaking circumstances — ones that no child should ever have to experience. They arrived carrying more than just their belongings; they carried pain, fear, and uncertainty. But over time, I’ve watched them begin to breathe, to laugh, and to finally just be kids.
It hasn’t been easy — healing never is — but it has been worth every single moment. Watching them discover simple joys, make friends, and believe in their futures again has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Now, one of my girls, Abbi, has a dream. She’s been invited to go on a school trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City — an experience that would open her eyes to history, culture, and possibilities beyond what she’s ever known. I want more than anything to make this happen for her. She deserves to see the world, to feel proud, and to know that her dreams matter.
If you’ve ever believed in second chances, in family beyond blood, or in the power of love to rewrite someone’s story — then you already know what this means to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for simply caring. Even sharing or sending encouragement means more than you know.
— Tonya
