Hello everyone,
Many of you may remember the fundraiser we shared last year for our dear friend Abbie Jenkins. Thanks to an overwhelming amount of love and generosity, Abbie was able to undergo her first surgery and focus on healing without the immediate stress of money and bills. We will never be able to thank you enough for that support.
Unfortunately, Abbie’s journey is not over yet.
After the first surgery her oncologist discovered the cancer had also spread to the remaining part of her Thyroid. Abbie now faces another operation in the coming weeks, followed by more recovery time and further treatment to ensure it hasn’t spread elsewhere. Because of this, she is still unable to return to work full-time in the film industry, a physically demanding job that she can’t safely do while recovering.
As many of you know, the film industry has been incredibly difficult over the past few years, and Abbie’s ongoing medical situation has made it even harder for her to regain financial stability. Although Abbie has gone back to England to be closer to family, her treatment and financial obligations remain in Canada. Family and friends are once again coming together to help cover her bills and recovery-related costs while she focuses on her health. We also completely understand that not everyone is in a position to donate, and simply sharing this fundraiser or sending Abbie words of support means the world.
Those who know Abbie know that she lights up every room she walks into and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She has always been the first to show up for others — now it’s our turn to show up for her again.
Any contribution, share, or message of support means more than we can express. Thank you for helping Abbie through this next stage of her healing.
With love and gratitude,
Chantal
