In about a week and a half she has to undergo an emergency surgery. While it’s something that absolutely needs to happen to keep her vision, the financial side of it has already begun to hit hard and fast. Between the surgery itself, travel, hotel costs, and being forced to take time off work while she recovers, she’s looking at roughly $8,000–$9,000 in expenses.

Because of the recovery period, she’ll only be receiving part of her normal pay for the 2–3 weeks she’s unable to work, which makes keeping up with regular bills and staying afloat at home really difficult.
