Support Abbagail & Her Twin Baby Girls Mac&Chz
Donation protected
MacKenzie Jade Estrada July 5th, 2024 - July 13th, 2024.
On Friday, July 5th, 2024 my baby sister Abbagail, due to maternal complications, had to undergo an emergency c-section to deliver her twin baby girls, MacKenzie Jade & Charlotte Rose, aka Mac&Chz, weighing 1.9lbs and 2.1lbs at 27 weeks gestation. Initially both babies were doing well considering their underdevelopment but unfortunately MacKenzie started to suffer medical problems at 2 days old and had to undergo her first lifesaving major abdominal surgery. Her outcome looked hopeful until she had to go in for her second lifesaving major abdominal surgery at 4 days old thus suffering irreversible kidney damage. With the efforts of the amazing surgical and neonatal team at Yale New Haven Hospital and despite every avenue and medication possible, MacKenzie Jade fought very hard but eventually passed away from kidney failure on July 13th, 2024 in the comfort of her mother's arms surrounded by her loving family.
While we are all heartbroken at the loss of MacKenzie, Charlotte is stable and still doing well but still at risk in the NICU at Yale New Haven Hospital. We ask for your prayers as we grieve Mackenzie's loss and hope for her twin sister, Charlotte's future.
These next few weeks and months will be extremely hard on Abbagail, mentally, emotionally and financially as she is out of work as an Emergency Medical Technician serving her community for the foreseeable future. At the young age of 18 she has had to make unbearable decisions no one should ever have to make. She will need lots of love and support as she navigates the loss of one daughter while also continuing to navigate the newness of motherhood to her other daughter. Any and all donations will help cover the cost of medical treatments for both girls and Abbagail as well as funeral costs for MacKenzie Jade.
We are all forever grateful for the love and support and thankful for your generosity.
