Tonight, we are facing one of the darkest moments in our rescue’s history. Our founding partner and the heart of Abandoned to Adored, Anita, experienced something truly unimaginable this afternoon. In an instant, she lost everything she has worked tirelessly to build—everything she has sacrificed her life for.

And with that devastating event, we also lost several precious souls from our pack… including the sweetest girl who was scheduled to head out on transport tomorrow. A few other beloved dogs lost their lives as well. The heartbreak is beyond words.

For years, Anita has been the backbone of our mission. She carries the weight financially, physically, and emotionally—showing up every single day for the dogs no one else would take. This mission became her purpose after losing both her husband and her mother. She rebuilt her life around saving abandoned animals, giving them love, safety, and hope.

Now she needs us.

Our rescue needs us.

Two hundred dogs need us.

Without immediate support, our shelter is at risk of closing. The dogs who depend on us—who depend on her—are in urgent need of safety, care, and stability.

We are launching this GoFundMe because we cannot allow this mission to crumble. We cannot let Anita face this devastation alone. We cannot lose the sanctuary she built out of heartbreak, dedication, and love.
