On May 26th, 2026, my younger brother Aaron and his wife Lindsey rushed to the Mayo Clinic emergency room in Rochester after Aaron experienced shortness of breath and chest pain for about a week. The doctors discovered he had extreme hypertension, and his labs showed his kidneys were not functioning properly. Aaron was admitted to the ICU, where his blood pressure was stabilized with IV medication. After further testing, he was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease—the most severe form of chronic kidney disease, requiring dialysis and ultimately a kidney transplant. Aaron had a dialysis catheter placed and began his first round of dialysis on May 30th. After spending a week at Mayo Clinic, he was discharged and will now be doing outpatient dialysis until plans for a kidney transplant are in the works.

This sudden diagnosis has turned Aaron and Lindsey’s world upside down, leading to loss of work, frequent travel for dialysis, and an unpredictable future of medical expenses and transplant procedures. Our family is reaching out with hopeful hearts to ask for support for Aaron during this gut-wrenching and unexpected health crisis. Aaron is just 36 years old. Donations will help cover medical bills, travel costs for outpatient dialysis, and provide support while Aaron is unable to work.
