My name is Les. I am 69 years old, and it is a privilege to stand beside Aaron and help
coordinate this GoFundMe on his behalf.
On the evening of January 9, 2026, Aaron suffered a series of seizures — first at home, and then again after being transported by ambulance to Abbotsford Hospital. CT and MRI scans revealed a tumour in the right temporal lobe of his brain.
He was transferred to Vancouver General Hospital. On February 5th, Aaron underwent brain surgery to remove the portion of the tumour that was placing dangerous pressure on his brain stem. The immediate goal was to eliminate the threat to his life and to obtain a biopsy sample. We are now awaiting those results, which will determine the next steps in his treatment.
A second surgery to remove more of the tumour is a possibility. However, because of its
location, the risks are significant. Mental and physical impairments are probable outcomes. At just 26 years old, this is not a decision to be taken lightly. This fund exists to give Aaron options — including the possibility of treatment outside of Canada if that becomes necessary.
Over these past weeks, I have watched Aaron face this trial with remarkable courage. His
maturity, his faith in the Lord, and his concern for others have humbled me. There are
moments when I feel he is the older of the two of us. He carries himself with a steadiness
that brings hope into the room. In a world that often feels uncertain, Aaron is a young man
of conviction and quiet strength.
In 2025, Aaron achieved something many young people only talk about — he started and successfully launched his own business. It was off to a strong start. Now, because of his
illness and the recovery ahead, he has had to shut the business down for 2026 in order to
focus entirely on healing. Aaron does not have insurance coverage, and at present he does
not qualify for government financial support. The financial strain is immediate and real.
This GoFundMe will be managed by Aaron’s parents. Funds raised will support his living
expenses, medical costs, and any treatment options that may give him the best possible
outcome.
I know many of you have already shown love and support in countless ways. If you are able,
we ask you to consider giving. No amount is too small. If you cannot give, sharing this page
is deeply appreciated. Contributing financially will be helping to lift a very heavy burden
from this young man who has his whole life ahead of him.
We will provide regular updates.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your generosity, your prayers, and your encouragement mean more than words can express.
God bless you,
Les
