Support Aami and Family After a Devastating Accident

04/27 Update: This fundraiser was active for 10 days, from April 17 to April 27, and is now closed. We are deeply grateful for all the support, prayers, and generosity shown to Aami and her family. If you would still like to make a donation, please contact (four zero four) five six six - six two five five.

04/26 - Update on Aami: her condition remains largely unchanged, and she continues to be on ventilator support. Doctors are planning a tracheostomy for breathing and a PEG tube for feeding as part of the next stage of her care. Please continue to keep Aami and her family in your prayers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

On behalf of the friends and family of Anoop and Anitha, we are starting this GoFundMe to support their daughter, Ameya (“Aami”), and their family during an unimaginably painful time.

On Friday, April 3, while Anitha, Aami's mom, was picking Aami up from daycare, they were involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle. Anitha also sustained injuries in the accident, but she has since recovered. Aami, however, suffered devastating injuries and was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite for emergency care.

Aami sustained a catastrophic spinal cord injury in the accident, causing extensive damage to her spinal cord (transection at the T2 level, with additional injury extending from C7 to T3) along with nerve damage, swelling, and other serious trauma. Her injury is extremely severe and life changing. She remains in critical condition, is on a ventilator to help her breathe, and continues to face multiple serious complications. At this time, her recovery is uncertain, and she will need long-term hospitalization, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical care.

Her parents, Anoop and Anitha, are both nurses who are now fully focused on being by Aami’s side and caring for their family through this crisis. Because of Aami’s condition and ongoing hospitalization, both parents are currently unable to work, creating a major loss of income at a time when the family needs every possible resource.

The family moved from Canada to Cartersville, Georgia, last year, and they are facing this heartbreaking situation while also being away from much of the support system they once had. Aami’s older brothers, Aadhi and Anvidh, are also going through this deeply painful time as they stand with their little sister.

This fundraiser is being organized by the friends and family of Anoop and Anitha to help ease the overwhelming financial burden on the family so they can focus fully on Aami’s care and recovery. Funds raised will go toward medical and recovery-related expenses, household and daily living expenses, transportation and family support needs, income loss while both parents remain away from work, and any ongoing care needs in the difficult weeks and months ahead.

Because Aami’s current condition is so severe, the family is not sharing hospital photos. We kindly ask everyone to respect their privacy and instead remember Aami through the joyful photos shared here.

Please keep Ameya (Aami), Anoop, Anitha, Aadhi, and Anvidh in your prayers. Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference for this family. If you are unable to contribute financially, please help by sharing this fundraiser widely.

Thank you for standing with this family during the most difficult time of their lives.
