Support a Young Muslim's Dream to Build Halal Apps

Donation protected
I’m 21, newly married, and building barakah-based apps for the Ummah. I’ve given everything I have to this dream — would love your advice, support, or du’a.

Salaam brothers and sisters,
I am sharing my story for advice, tips, support, and du’as. I don’t need to be afraid to take the leap.
I’m a 21-year-old Puerto Rican Muslim. Both parents are reverts, recently married, alhamdulillah. I have longed to build a halal business opportunity. When I came up with my idea about 3 months ago, I tirelessly worked on it and cried (many times) out of frustration when I saw my efforts going nowhere. I coded in my room on the same bug for 4 days straight and decided it’s best to outsource my ideas to a professional. When I put some money into it, new things popped up, and in 2 weeks, I found myself broke. Like, quarter tank of gas, pennies in the bank broke.
But wallahi — Allah still fed me those days. I didn’t go hungry. I found new blessings opening for me. I continued to pray for only what is good and pleasing to Allah. And that’s when it hit me: none of this is about money. It’s about barakah.
I’ve been working on something that I pray will outlive me. A dream to build apps for Muslims that aren’t filled with ads, data mining, or distractions. Apps that give you access to knowledge in a beautiful, peaceful way. To present knowledge to ANYONE: young, old, Arab, non-Arab, man, woman, Muslim, non-Muslim — the way it should be. No weirdness. Just barakah.

The first app I’m building is called Understand Quran Easy.
I had always wanted to know what is being said when people are crying during salah, and this app will help anyone to understand… even just 1 word. This app helps you learn the meaning of the Qur’an, word by word, in quizzes, games, and using active recall to effectively remember — especially useful in salah.
I’m someone who doesn’t speak Arabic fluently (as stated, I am a Puerto Rican Muslim), and I always felt this gap when praying. Like… I’m hearing, but not feeling. Then when I go home and read the translation, I bawl my eyes out. The Qur’an is so beautiful and amazing, I just wish I could understand every time I hear it.
So I wanted to build something for people like me — and kids too. I see so many kids sent to memorize Qur’an but they don’t know what it means. I want this app to be fun, light, and simple — like Kahoot meets Duolingo, but focused on understanding Allah’s words.
This app is meant to be worldwide… for ALL Muslims. To connect people by the Qur’an. And to make it actually ENJOYABLE. On launch, this app will have multiple languages because anyone should be allowed to understand the words of God.

The second one I’m preparing is called 20/80 Language.
Based on the idea that you only need 20% of a language to use 80% of it in daily life.
It will use AI integration so you can speak to it, and ACTUALLY feel like you’re speaking — not just memorizing.
It’s meant to make any language feel easy to pick up — this app is for people who’ve always wanted to connect to other languages but feel overwhelmed by ads or non-halal apps made to steal your attention.
ALL apps I ever create will have no ads and halal-friendly conversations.

I’ve given everything I have for this. I’m crowdfunding now because I don’t have much left to give now that I am newly married and had to move into an apartment. This is truly my dream, and only for the sake of Allah. I can always put forward the work, the heart, and the du’a.
If anyone wants to support — with advice, or du’as, or even with $1 — it’s not just for me. It’s sadaqah. It’s helping something grow that’s meant to serve people long after we’re gone, inshaAllah.

And if nothing else — please make du’a for me and for this to reach who it needs to reach.
May we all build things that last.
