Support a Young Muslim Brother's Recovery Journey

Assalamu alaikum,

Update (4/14/26): The family is now arranging plans to send their son to Pakistan by the end of April, as local treatment facilities are financially inaccessible for them without financial support. With low oversight, easy access to street drugs, and no support system in Pakistan, this could be life threatening for their son. Your support is needed urgently, and can make or break this brother's ability to access the treatment he needs. In reaching our goal by the end of April, he will be able to begin his treatment sessions at the local addiction center which will provide him with high quality mediation, doctors, and treatment to overcome this life threatening addiction.

A close family friend of mine is battling a fentanyl addiction and is seeking urgent treatment. A single does of this opioid laced with an unknown substance can end the user's life in an instant. This Muslim brother is under 25 and graduated from college a few years ago. From a young age, he’s always been motivated to better himself and take care of his family. But over these past few years, his mental health began to decline. He struggled to find work for years after dedicating himself to his studies, and suffered from a physical injury which stopped him from engaging in sports. To the naked eye this may seem like a common occurrence; a story you’ve heard before. But for a young man who also struggles with severe ADHD and mental health issues, having no physical outlet and the constant feeling of defeat- rejection after rejection, took a serious toll. He recently fell into opioid addiction, and his family needs urgent assistance to fund his admission to a rehabilitation center so he can access the support, resources, and help he needs to heal.

He recently opened up to his family, sharing that he knows he has an addiction and wants to get better. He wants to turn back to Allah and become a better version of himself again. This is a huge first step. But unfortunately, without the money to pay for a treatment program, there is very little his family can do to efficiently heal their son. Medical professionals, a proper rehabilitation center, and continued mentorship/medical check ins will be necessary to turn his life back around again.

This brother is still young, still capable of healing, growing, and discovering his dreams again. He’s still capable of supporting his family, those he loves, and becoming the strongest version of himself. But he can’t do it alone.

We are turning to you, to every Muslim, to every parent, every sister and brother- to support a Muslim brother in need. At heart, he is truly one of the most bright, intelligent, loving, honest, and resilient people you will ever know. He has a heart of gold, a sense of humor that never fails to make everyone laugh, and loves deeply. I’ve personally watched him grow into a kind and perseverant young man- and I know that with the proper treatment, he can do incredible things insha’Allah.

His family cannot afford the bills for his treatment or admission into a rehabilitation facility. With at least $5,000, his family will be able to find peace in their hearts that their son is being given a chance to become the man he’s capable of being.

Sponsor an appointment at the local addiction center: $200
Sponsor a month of treatment: $800

These funds will used to pay for:

- Appointments at local addiction center to begin his treatment before being admitted to a rehabilitation center
- The time spent at the rehabilitation facility (6 months to 1 year for opioid addiction)
- Post rehabilitation appointments and mentorship program to support him as he reenters the community

The Prophet (SAW) said, "Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Resurrection." [Hadith Sahih Muslim]

May Allah reward you tenfold for your support and duaas, ameen.
