In March of 2024, my 25-year-old niece made the courageous decision to leave a five-year relationship marked by intimate partner violence. She returned home with her three children—ages 2 months, 1, and 4—and began the hard, beautiful journey of rebuilding her life.
In a year, she has done something extraordinary. With resilience, love, and an unwavering commitment to her children, she has created a safe home and supportive community for her family. She is one of the most dedicated, intuitive, and nurturing mothers I know. Watching her step into her strength while navigating the challenges of single motherhood has been deeply inspiring.
A couple weeks ago, I came across a life-changing opportunity—a healing retreat in Costa Rica designed specifically for survivors of intimate partner violence. I shared it with her, knowing in my heart it was something she would benefit from deeply. Out of 60 applicants, she was chosen.
This retreat, lead by @nanachinara, happening July 4th–11th, 2025, offers a space for survivors to rest, reflect, and reconnect with themselves. It includes accommodations, meals, wellness programming, and peer support—everything she needs to continue her healing in a safe and empowering environment.
But while the retreat itself is covered, we need help raising $1300 to get her there.
Here’s what your support will go toward:
Flights & Travel Costs: $500–$700 (depending on how soon we can book)
Clothing & Essentials for the Trip: $200 (She left most of her belongings behind when she fled)
Spending Money & Miscellaneous Costs: $300
Travel Insurance: $100
Our goal is to book her flight by mid-June to keep costs low and ensure she’s fully prepared. The sooner we can raise the funds, the more flexibility and peace of mind she'll have going into this experience.
This trip isn’t just a vacation—it’s an investment in her ongoing healing, her self-worth, and her future. She shows up every day for her children. Now, I want to help show up for her.
Any donation—no matter how small—helps move us closer to this goal. And if you’re not able to give, sharing this campaign is just as valuable.
Thank you for reading, for supporting survivors, and for helping my niece continue this powerful journey toward healing and wholeness.
In love & sovereignty,
