I am a volunteer working with the Queer Asylum Alliance of the North Bay Rapid Response Network. We are a local organization supporting LGBTQ folks who arrive in the US fleeing persecution and violence due to their sexual identity.

I'm currently helping a very brave young man from Haiti who fled terrifying conditions fraught with physical assaults and violence perpetrated against gay people in his country. Eager to find a safe haven, he is petitioning for asylum. We are raising funds to help him cover the costs of an immigration attorney and the costly fees USCIS requires to file an asylum application.

By mobilizing our generosity and compassion, we can ensure that he can live with dignity and safety in the US.
