Hello, my name is Abby! I'm almost 20 years old and I'm pregnant with my fiancé's baby girl. We have been together for close to 2 and a half years now. I got pregnant by accident, but that doesn't mean our baby isn't so loved. When we found out I was pregnant, my fiancé Charley and I were sitting in the bathroom, and I was convinced that the test would show up negative like every test beforehand. My periods are very irregular. Charley saw the second line before I did, and when I saw it, that was the second my whole life changed.

Now, this may seem like a happy story, and you're wondering why I'm here hoping someone is kind enough to help us. As our baby grew, so did the love we had for it. We called the baby "little bean" since we didn't know the gender. I was convinced it was a boy, but my fiancé and I really wanted a girl. As time went on, life started happening, and we had to start getting ready for this baby so that we could be great parents. We may be young, but while other folks our age are out doing stupid things and getting into trouble, my fiancé and I were planning for this sweet baby we were going to have and dreaming of the life we were going to share.

Then tragedy struck. At our 20-week ultrasound, where we were so excited to know the gender, we found out the most devastating news a parent can hear. We walked into the ultrasound appointment with excitement, not knowing that we would walk out in tears. It started fine. We soon found out our dreams for a baby girl were going to happen, and while I was getting my weight and blood pressure, my fiancé was so excited he could barely speak. He had always wanted a daughter. He always told me while we were dating that if we ever had kids, he wanted to be a girl dad. We were walked to a room for the doctor, and I called my mom to tell her the gender, and we had a moment of pure happiness. The moments that followed turned our dream into a nightmare. The doctor came in, and I hung up with my mom. The doctor looked at me, and I immediately knew something was wrong. She started off by telling us she was so sorry and told us she thinks our baby has Anencephaly. This is a fatal birth defect where the baby has little to no brain, and there is no cure. This pregnancy would result in a stillbirth if I was able to carry to full term. If our daughter started to cause me any harm, since she's considered an unviable pregnancy, they would remove her. I saw a specialist who verified and gave her the official diagnosis. My baby girl, my fiancé's and my dream, isn't going to be here with us. She will be born and pass away shortly after at best case scenario or pass away while I'm in labor and be a stillbirth. My fiancé and I are young, and we are trying so hard to cope with a loss that shouldn't exist, much less for adult teens who really just wanted to be a happy family.

Now, I'm not the type to beg or ask for help. If you were to know me, you would know that I find shame in not being able to help yourself, and I've always struggled with getting any assistance. I just know that if we can't afford to properly "dispose of the remains," she will be donated to science, and with the nature of her condition and how rare it is to get something like this into science, our precious girl would end up in the hands of someone who will see her as a lab rat and not my dream baby girl. I'm also not the type to lie. My goal in its entirety I set for this GoFundMe is $8,500. We want to give our daughter a funeral to honor her and make her proud. This is the biggest loss I've ever had, and having to organize my child's funeral at just 19 has really been mentally and emotionally harmful. The cost for her funeral will be $6,000. The rest of the money, if we get the goal and any more after, will go to helping my fiancé and me prep our life to be able to have our dream and maybe one day after we are married and can have a home and a car (he totaled his just a couple of weeks after we found out about her diagnosis, also losing his good job and his family, him and I, getting evicted all in one month) and just help to piece our life back together after our ground crumbled beneath us and fell to rock bottom. We went from life going as good as it can to losing everything. Please consider donating to help us grieve our daughter and help us pick up the pieces of all that we have lost. We appreciate everyone who even looks at this. Thank you all!
