My son was nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum STEM program this summer because of his hard work and academic excellence. As a single mom raising a young Black boy with big dreams, this opportunity means everything. He’ll meet real astronauts and doctors, and even build a robot alongside them. To have this opportunity and show him that yes, little Black boys can have big dreams that don't include sports and be successful even coming from a small town means everything.
