We’re raising funds for a fellow worker who was wrongfully terminated earlier this year. Known for their reliability, technical skill, and steady support through constant organizational changes, they were among the top performers in their department and a trusted resource for staff across the organization.
Despite this strong record, they became the target of heightened scrutiny and unequal treatment, facing disciplinary actions that were not applied to others in similar circumstances. After rightfully invoking their union rights during workplace discussions, they were abruptly suspended without pay and then terminated without warning.
This firing wasn’t about performance, it was retaliation. It reflects a pattern of punishing outspoken, high-performing staff of color who stand up for fairness and collective worker protections.
It has now been months since their termination, and continues to await for arbitration, scheduled for early 2026. In the meantime, they have struggled to find stable employment due to the stigma attached to being a terminated union worker.
Your support will help cover basic living expenses, rent, and transportation costs while they await justice through the arbitration process. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps sustain a worker who stood up for themselves and their coworkers and paid the price for it.
Standing together means ensuring no one is left behind when they are targeted for doing what’s right.
When workers stand up for each other, we make it harder for employers to silence us.
Let’s show that solidarity doesn’t stop when someone is pushed out — it grows stronger.
Solidarity means action. Please donate and share. Every contribution makes a difference.
