Support a mother who fell victim to an emotional online scam

I don’t want to share my name here because I’m still ashamed. I never thought something like this could happen to me.

I fell in love with someone online – we wrote every day, shared our lives, gave each other support. I thought I had found someone who truly understood me. But everything was fabricated. The photos, the stories – and most importantly, the intent.

Over several months, I kept sending money – out of love, out of trust. Supposedly for fines, flights, subscriptions… a total of over €55,000. It was my life savings.

I feel so hurt and humiliated. This shame is eating me up inside. But I’ve decided to share my story – to help prevent others from going through this. And with the hope that, with your help, I can recover at least a portion of the damage.
