In the journey of life, we are often blessed with extraordinary people who become family, even without blood ties. My non-biological mother, a shining example of strength and resilience, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 urothelial clear cell cancer, that has spread from her pelvic area to all areas of her lungs. This warrior of a woman, who has always put others first, is now facing the toughest battle of her life. She’s an active member of society, helping at food pantries and breaking generational curses with her children, raising them so beautifully and gracefully after surviving so many medical hardships.

She is more than a mother-figure to me; she helped raise me into the woman I am and protected me and my sister for many, many years. She has two incredible children of her own, Dimitri (6) and Persayus (5), who need our support now more than ever. They deserve to focus on creating beautiful memories together, free from the financial burden that comes with her treatment and care.
