Support a USMC Vet and Teacher Fight for Custody

Greetings,

I am a father, a disabled USMC Veteran, and a teacher. I am in desperate need of assistance. My wife recently gave birth. After 10 years of relative peace, my ex wife capitalized on this vulnerability to launch a custody battle. I have been an extremely active and involved father from day 1. The ex and I have shared a 50/50 arrangement for the past 10 years and she is seeking to change this arrangement and reduce my time with my son. My ex wife makes an estimated 3 times as much as my wife and I combined. Her lawyer’s tactic is to litigate for the sake of litigation, running up bills, pursuing costly depositions, and other objections and procedural barriers to make me submit and give up before our case can ever make it in front of a judge. She and her lawyer are actively seeking to harm our family through financial bullying via the court system. I am trying my best to fight for my son as well as caring for our family, (we have a newborn). I have already financed 10 grand and we have not even been to the first hearing yet. No loving parent should ever have to face losing rights to their children because they’re facing excessive litigation costs, but that is the reality I have been facing for months. As a public school teacher, I have had the unfortunate experience of seeing the court system get things wrong and great parents get screwed over all of the time, especially if they can’t keep up with the legal costs. Lawyers and courts rarely care about the children’s lives or welfare, especially if a parent cannot afford to play the game. My only goal is to protect my son and my family, and create a safe and loving environment for our children to grow. Please consider donating and helping my cause.
