Help a Veteran Family with Uncovered Moving Expenses
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m Lacey, a disabled veteran and military spouse. My husband, Paul, has served in the Army for over 21 years and is now retiring. We’ve had a bit of a rough time recently and could really use some help as we try to move back home to Florida.

Two years ago, we were moved from North Carolina to Washington, and it was a tough transition. We were technically homeless for six weeks, living in hotels while we waited for a place to open up. Then, just when we thought things were settling down, our only car was totaled in a rear-end collision, only two months after we finally got into our new home. The financial strain led us to declare bankruptcy at the end of last year.

Now, with Paul retiring, we need to get back home to Florida. The military will cover most of the move, but we’re stuck with a $3,200 bill to ship our (new-to-us) vehicles—a cost we just can’t manage right now. On top of that, we really don’t want to have to rehome our cat, so we’re looking to raise $600 for a month of boarding fees until we can get settled.

We have a teenager who’s going through all this with us, and we’re just hoping to make it home so we can start fresh and get back on our feet. Any help you can give would mean so much to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer. It truly means the world to us. ❤️
