I am a proud senior citizen and veteran of the United States Navy who has always worked hard for what I have. I served my country honorably and with dignity, and for the past 20 years, I worked for the National Association of Social Workers—first as an employee in the office of the Chief Executive Officer, and then as a contractor managing student volunteers for the NASW National Conference. After two decades of loyal service, NASW declined to renew my contract for the 2026 annual conference without notice. While this decision was not made in malice, it has put me in financial hardship.
My backup part-time position at a local restaurant was eliminated just last month, further deepening my financial challenges. My health has declined, and I currently find myself in need of help to survive and avoid homelessness. Your support will allow this military veteran to afford rent, food, and daily living expenses until I start collecting Social Security. Please know I am a hard-working veteran who has always pulled my weight and helped others along the way. I just need a helping hand to reach my retirement.
I humbly ask for whatever you can donate to bridge the gap until I can collect Social Security. Thank you for your consideration.
