Support a Vet & Retired Cop: Build His Accessible Bathroom

My name is Linda and I am hoping to help a Vietnam Vet and a Retired Oakland CA Police Officer. This fundraiser is for David Latt. A name that may be familiar, a retired Oakland Police Officer for many years.

He has been a recluse for several years. He had 2 severe strokes in 2020, which left him partially handicapped. Unfortunately, he has been declining physically and mentally after a bad fall 2 months ago. He has difficulty standing and can only walk a few steps with assistance. I am raising money for a bathroom on the same level so he can have a handicap assessible toilet and a shower.

Today I added a photo of the bathroom which needs a shower to replace this tub. David cannot get into and out of the tub. He has a difficult time just standing.

The bathroom he has now on the downstairs level does not have electricity and only a bathtub, which he is unable to access.

He needs this. Can you help?

Update: David is about the same, no real change in his condition or how he is feeling. I did add a real throwback photo which I just love. Officer 6496, dated 19 APR 1968. Does he look intimidating enough? Love it!
