My name is Susana, and I am creating this fundraiser to help the son of my lifelong best friend, a woman who has been like a sister to me for many years.

After living in Chile for approximately nine years, he recently traveled to Venezuela to visit his family. His brother in law had just purchased an apartment near the beach, and the family was spending time together when tragedy struck.

On the evening of the earthquake, he and his father left the apartment to go to a nearby bakery. During the earthquake, a collapse crushed their vehicle. Tragically, his father lost his life. He survived but suffered devastating injuries that resulted in the loss of both of his legs.

To make this tragedy even more heartbreaking, his mother, his sister, his nephew and his brother in law who were inside the apartment at the time of the earthquake passed away.

The family is now facing enormous emotional, medical, and financial challenges. The funds raised will help with medical treatment, rehabilitation, mobility equipment, transportation, daily living expenses, and other urgent needs as he begins the long journey of recovery.

As a close family friend, I am raising these funds to provide direct support during this unimaginable time. I currently reside in Louisiana and will be sending funds to him. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference.

We would like to share a very painful update regarding Brayan and his family.

After days of uncertainty and hope, the family received confirmation that Brayan’s mother, his brother-in-law, his sister, and his nephew lost their lives as a result of the earthquake. They were the four family members who were inside the apartment building at the time of the collapse.

This devastating loss has left Brayan grieving the loss of some of the most important people in his life while continuing to fight through the physical and emotional challenges of recovering from the loss of both of his legs.

The support, prayers, and generosity shown through this fundraiser have been a source of comfort and hope during an unimaginable tragedy. The funds raised will help cover his ongoing medical expenses, rehabilitation, mobility equipment, daily living costs, and the many challenges he will face as he works to rebuild his life.

Mi nombre es Susana y estoy creando esta recaudación de fondos para ayudar al hijo de mi mejor amiga de toda la vida, una mujer que ha sido como una hermana para mí durante muchos años.

Después de vivir aproximadamente nueve años en Chile, recientemente viajó a Venezuela para visitar a su familia. Su cuñado acababa de comprar un apartamento cerca de la playa y la familia estaba reunida disfrutando de su tiempo juntos cuando ocurrió la tragedia.

La tarde del terremoto, él y su padre salieron del apartamento para ir a una panadería cercana. Durante el sismo, una estructura colapsó sobre el vehículo en el que se encontraban. Lamentablemente, su padre perdió la vida. Él logró sobrevivir, pero sufrió heridas devastadoras que resultaron en la amputación de ambas piernas.

Para hacer esta tragedia aún más dolorosa, su mamá, su hermana, su sobrino y su cuñado quienes se encontraban dentro del apartamento al momento del terremoto perdieron la vida.

La familia enfrenta ahora enormes desafíos emocionales, médicos y económicos. Los fondos recaudados ayudarán a cubrir gastos médicos, rehabilitación, equipos de movilidad, transporte, gastos básicos de vida y otras necesidades urgentes mientras comienza el largo camino hacia su recuperación.

Como amiga cercana de la familia, estoy recaudando estos fondos para brindarles apoyo directo durante este momento tan difícil e inimaginable. Cada contribución, sin importar la cantidad, marcará una diferencia significativa.

Después de días de incertidumbre y esperanza, la familia recibió la confirmación de que la madre, su cuñado, su hermana y su sobrino fallecieron como consecuencia del terremoto. Ellos eran los cuatro familiares que se encontraban dentro del edificio de apartamentos al momento del colapso.

Esta pérdida devastadora ha dejado a Brayan enfrentando el dolor de perder a algunos de los seres más importantes de su vida, mientras continúa luchando por recuperarse física y emocionalmente tras la pérdida de ambas piernas.

El apoyo, las oraciones y la generosidad que han demostrado a través de esta campaña han sido una fuente de consuelo y esperanza en medio de una situación inimaginable.
