Support a Tutor and Their Furry Companion

Hello, I'm Illanya Montemayor. I work as a tutor in a learning center, helping individuals of all ages with their reading skills and comprehension. I've been doing this since 2018, I enjoy my work, adore my students, and it's been mostly stable income in previous years. However, in the past 2 months, we've had an unprecedented lack of clients, which has led to hours being cut, dropping me from 30+ hours a week to 8 or fewer hours a week. This has significantly impacted my well-being, as now I'm having a tough time paying rent, bills, and taking care of my cat, Ares. He needs a special diet for his digestive issues and we've not been able to afford vet visits for him. I'm worried that if something sudden happens to him, we wouldn't be in a position to get help for him.

At the moment, I'm looking for a new job, but I don't have a lot of prospects in my field that would cover my expenses. Additionally, my household has recently been getting papers from our landlord threatening to raise our rent beyond my means. This is doing significant damage to my mental health, and I've had nearly no financial stability for the last 2 months. I'm afraid to face homelessness and/or additional financial struggles and I don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated and would go directly towards paying for my cat's needs as well as paying down debts and expenses.
