We are raising funds to support Sonia and her family as they face eviction from their home in southeast Tucson. After her husband had a stroke 5 months ago and is still unable to work consistently, Sonia hasn't been able to keep up with the growing prices of rent and utility bills. Her and her children are facing homelessness during the hottest time of year, and they need community to help them gain some financial stability while her husband heals.

Sonia believes that even if you don't have much, you give what you can. As someone who has experienced homelessness before, Sonia has taught her children to see other's humanity and care for others in the community. Alongside working 2 jobs as a PRN working with youth in crisis and doing peer support for folks facing mental health and addiction, Sonia fosters shelter animals on the kill-list, hands out food/water/hygiene supplies to unhoused neighbors, and collects supplies for migrant children on the border. She believes in the power of mutual aid, and right now she needs community to show up for her and her family.
