This fundraiser is being hosted on behalf of a friend who wishes to remain anonymous for the safety of her and her family. See her words below:

“I’m a mom in my 40’s with an adopted special needs child, and I also happen to be trans. I’m used to living my life on hard-mode, but the recent political changes in America have put the trans community in genuine danger and it’s only going to get worse. My wife and I have been struggling with unemployment since the industry we both work in was decimated, and our financial situation is extremely tenuous. And now, in a few months, I have an important surgery that will require a long recovery. This surgery is critical for my life, health, happiness, and safety.

We need some additional funds to help us get past this financial hardship since I’m currently the only one working in my family, and this surgery will mean 2 months of lost income, on top of paying insurance premiums out of pocket and the cost of the surgery itself.

Donations of any amount would be so appreciated. I don’t disclose any of this OR ask for help lightly, but this is a very real situation with some very real dangers. Thank you all.”

She is a dear friend of mine, and deserves all the love and support in the world. I hate that she needs to go anonymous for her family's safety, but that is unfortunately the current climate we live in now. And it won't stop me from trying to help her as much as I can. I know its asking for a lot of trust, but please, if you have the money, I would love it if you could help my friend.
