Support a Tennis Club in South Africa

Donation protected

Hi there, my name is lucky, I am currently living in Florida, originally from South Africa, I have been living and working in the United States for 7years, going back and forth to South Africa.

Impilo Tennis Club is located in the capital city of South Africa, I was in Pretoria last year, looking for a tennis club near me and they popped up on my Facebook feed.

I went to go meet with the coach Sizwe Radebe, a young gentleman in his thirties who is very passionate about tennis, he is the founder of the club and runs it purely on donations, from parents and sponsorship from the government. Majority of the club member is young kids age group 10-19.

I trained with the team for a month or two, then had to travel. I was touched at how passionate Sizwe the coach is, about the well being of these kids, not only does he want these kids to be tennis Pros, he wants them to prosper spiritually aswell and genuinely wants a bright future for these kids, He has an assignment to train our future leaders.

I genuinely went there to learn how to play tennis, but saw the club has a great need.

The coach is soo humble, he told me the story of the club and how they got to the name, Impilo Tennis Club, Impilo means life in IsiZulu.

He told me the clubs needs an upgrade and many other resources, from tennis racquets, uniforms, and many basic things that a professional tennis club should have, I was impressed at how he told me all of that, without needing sympathy, Sizwe Radebe is passionate about solving problems and uplifting community, I could tell, he does not just want hand outs, he wants to get involved and change the lives of these kids, and provide a safe home for them, away from home.

He goes on to tell me how amazing it would be, if the courts had lights so that there are night matches, the club house is next to the former HM Pitje stadium that was completely demolished for renovation, now the land stands bare due to corruption in the local mayor office and ownership of land.

He told me there was not even lights at the club when they started training there, he had to go to the municipality to get the lights and water running.

I was impressed at how the kids where punctual and disciplined, starting to train, even when the coach is not there yet. They begin training with a prayer and know exactly what to do, they all enjoy tennis and play soo passionately, I have no doubt to say this club is heading to be number 1 in Pretoria, going international.

In the 2 or 3 months I've been with them, the club has been participating in a lot of tournaments and that's where the most need was, transport, food, and basic necessities a professional team needs when they go to compete.

The club will be 5 years this July 20th 2025 and they are having a tournament and I need your help to support them on their 5th year anniversary.

I have a list of needs the club has emailed me, and I can gladly email it to you.
This will be a whole day's event so breakfast and lunch will be served.
the total amount needed is R6825.00 South African rands which I rounded off to $400

Your contribution will be for
Breakfast
Lunch
bottled water
fruit
medals
trophies and other basic necessities.

Please feel free to email me, to send you a formal letter from the club.

I am genuinely trying to help Sizwe Radebe to help these kids have a bright future.

My personal goal is to help these kids have scholarships opportunities and compete world wide. Its too early for the club, but your contribution is a seed you are planting into my vision.

Thank you for your support
