The time has come! My hereditary hearing loss has progressed to a point that has greatly impacted my life professionally.

My name is Liz Brekke. I teach English to middle school students in Des Moines, that are new to our country and are learning the language.

Due to shyness, soft voices, and timidness, I struggle daily to hear my students properly. This leads students to shut down, get frustrated, or say things such as, "Oh, you must not have heard me, remember you can't hear." (That's why I love middle schoolers so much haha)

Please help me fund my first pair of hearing aids to assist me in being the best teacher I can be!
