Hello! My daughter’s best friend needs our help. This is our last resort, we are one month away and have exhausted almost all other options.

We have worked tirelessly to do financial aid, homeless documents, getting an ID, dentist etc. Luckily, the rep from Upward Bound has been an invaluable source of knowledge and ideas but we are on a tight road here. We spend hours working with this every week with homework outside of those meetings.

But we need $5000 to get her in for this year at the cheapest school that has an animation major, NEC. She’s an INCREDIBLE ARTIST.

Next year will be another hurdle. We should find out tomorrow what year 2/3/4 will look like and also the possibility of banging out core credits at a community school that has housing.

We have one more meeting with Waypoint for resources on Tuesday please pray they can help.

She’s done so many scholarships, she just got her first job… she’s trying. She’s a super shy kid so making all these emails, phone calls, setting up a new bank account and getting her ID has been HARD, but she’s displaying the grit and determination to make this happen.

This kid is honest, kind, driven, extremely talented and has had a rough go, no fault of her own and I just want to see her have her own room, guaranteed meals and a pathway to a life doing something she loves while making an income to support herself.
