Hi everyone,
I’m raising funds to support a close friend who has been through an extremely difficult and traumatic life experience, and is now trying to rebuild her life here in the UK.
From a very young age, she experienced severe abuse, including sexual abuse within her family, and later found herself in an abusive marriage where she was subjected to physical violence. These experiences have had a lasting impact on her mental health. She has a very limited support network around her.
Despite everything she has been through, she showed incredible strength by leaving that environment and seeking safety in the UK, where she is now raising her young son.
Recently, her mental health has significantly worsened. She is experiencing frequent panic attacks, overwhelming anxiety, and episodes where she becomes so distressed that she faints. Medical investigations have not found a physical cause, and it is believed that these symptoms are linked to unresolved trauma.
She wants help but there are barriers.
English is not her first language, which makes accessing effective therapy in the UK extremely difficult. Trauma therapy requires being able to fully express and process deeply personal experiences, and this is much harder through interpreters or in a second language.
We have found a qualified Spanish-speaking therapist who can provide the support she needs online. However, the cost of sessions is something she cannot afford at the moment.
That’s why we are raising funds to give her access to consistent trauma therapy.
What the funds will cover:
• Weekly therapy sessions with a Spanish-speaking trauma therapist
• Initial support for 3–6 months of treatment
• Helping her build stability so she can continue caring for her son
Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards helping her access the support she needs to heal and move forward.
She is a loving and dedicated mother who is doing everything she can to create a better life for her child she just needs the right support to get there.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean a lot.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story ❤️
