Environmental Humanities program for young adults

The humanities have a critical role to play in addressing the challenges our world is currently facing. Julia and Philippe are two young scholar-workers aiming to take the humanities outside the university context and to reintegrate the body and the mind in scholarly activity.

With your support, we can make humanities education available to young people in a unique setting, where they will get hands-on experience in permaculture techniques and principles together with a crash course in environmental humanities. During this innovative 3-week program, participants will work actively on growing food, building structures, and design landworks. They will read major texts dealing with the environment, work, and local history. And they will benefit from field trips, art-making activities, and guest lectures.

All funds will go to food, transportation, and materials, as well as to paying lecturers to share their knowledge and experience. Any excess funds will allow us to expand our programming, give scholarships to participants, and increase honorariums for lecturers.
