Support a Student's Dream Amidst Family Crisis

On behalf of one of our Class of 2025 Seniors, the Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School Counseling Department would like to share the below story and request donations to help this wonderful family:

Hello All!

I am the parent of a high schooler fortunate enough to be enrolled in Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) through Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School (dual enrollment). My child is set to finish an associate's degree this May in 2025 (before even graduating from high school officially)!

As of recently, my family is facing a dire financial situation due to my husband's health crisis and, subsequently, loss of work. This has greatly affected all aspects of our lives, but, we do not want this to curtail our child's aspirations any further.

We recently received a heartbreaking letter that my child was dropped from the RVCC program due to an outstanding tuition balance. To see the heartbreak on my child's face has been insufferable. From anticipating college application season, to studying hard all summer for the SAT, our child has big dreams that we would be heartbroken to see cut short by this situation. Any amount of help is greatly appreciated and will go directly toward our child's tuition balance so that our child can complete their associate's degree without any disturbances.
