Thanks for landing on my GoFundMe page.

Several months ago, I lost my primary source of income during the fires. Since then, I've been going to school and doing gig work, including DoorDash and personal assisting numerous clients. This work has not always been steady and has resulted in my family moving out of our affordable apartment.

Since then, housing has been sporadic. I don't have full-time work to qualify for a new place, and it's not for lack of trying—I've applied to dozens and dozens of jobs while continuing to attend school full-time. I'm also raising my teens as they go to school and am responsible for drop-off and pickup, plus regular teen activities.

I'm a full-time student, and last week, my SUV gave out on me—literally a huge kaboom and a massive cloud of greyish-white smoke billowing up from the engine.

So basically, life's been hard, like really hard. I want stability for my family, but I need to be able to get on my feet. With car bills mounting, rental car bills, phone bills... it's too much. Even though this is a GoFundMe, I still don't want to share all of our struggles right now, but there's been more than I've shared.

I'm looking for support as we get back on our feet. Right now, we are looking at returning home to Canada, which means clearing out our storage units, salvaging what we want to save that has sentimental value, and renting a U-Haul in tandem with driving our SUV home (after it's fixed). I seem to be more employable in Canada than I am here, and being home again would mean the world to us.
