I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of a student in my community who confided in me about how helpless she feels being unable to complete her last year of school. She is a hardworking Black Muslim woman who has faced major personal and academic challenges this year. After months of stress and setbacks, she fought hard to appeal for readmission after being dismissed due to unforeseen circumstances — and she was approved.

The only thing standing between her and returning to school is a $10,000 financial barrier:

$6,000 is needed to clear her school balance

$4,000 is needed to help cover housing so she can return to campus safely and focus on her studies

Without this support, she cannot resume classes, and her dreams will be put on hold. This is someone who has always shown up for others, even while quietly struggling herself.
