Earlier this year, I was in a car accident that turned my life upside down.

It left me with some injuries, some form of PTSD, an unexpected medical bill of over $8,000, and the remaining balance on my car after it was deemed a total loss — putting me in a tight spot, especially since it was my only means of transportation and my school being 90 minutes drive away.

While it still feels surreal that I made it through, I’m deeply grateful to be alive and on the road to recovery.

As a self-pay university student, this financial burden has been incredibly heavy. I went back and forth for weeks about whether to ask for help, but after much thought — and with more medical expenses still ahead — I’m reaching out to ask for support in clearing this bill. I intend to handle anything that comes after on my own.
